Why might we be surprised that George wrote such a beautiful song, (album)? Wasn't he a Beatle? Yes, he was just as much a Beatle as the other 3. But, he didn't have to be a "Beatle" to write it, he had to be "George", yes, George wrote that song. We should not be surprised. I feel sorry for the lads, on the one hand, they had the forum to express themselves musically, on the other hand, they seemed to get in each other's way. Perhaps, this is why their solo work seems to garner such adulation. There is a saying, " the whole is greater than the sum of its parts"...John, Paul, George, and Ringo"... I think the parts are greater than the whole.

Love this. George was often accused of preaching. I don't think he was he was full of the joy of being after being hemmed in by what it meant to be a Beatle for so long and the fact that All Things Must Pass is a triple record set is testament to this and how creative and stifled he was.
