Hint of Sonny Rollins's St. Thomas at 4:32?

A sweet Sonny Rollins lick snuck in there. That's some nice stuff!

Such an underrated jazz piece, it's a pity that this isn't well-known. Even among jazz enthusiasts.

This amazing piece (by one of my favorite musicians of all time) is deticated to Duke Elington (hens the name "open letter to duke"). A lot of musicians deticated their pieces to Elington. one of the most famous examples (except this one) is Sir Duke by Stevie Wonder. Duke Elington was a pianist and a big band leader and if you hadn`t heard his music yet than you definitaly should as soon as you finish hearing this one. Thank you for readin and enjoy the music!

just ordered this vinyl from the local store... $30 for the smoothest, hands-down-best jazz i've ever heard? a steal!

One of those life changing tunes.... impossible to hear this one time and be the same person afterward.

4:14 That is what I call music magic. There's no better example of communicating with music. I wish they went on more.

One of the greatest albums EVER!! Any time,by anyone,in any genre or category. It sounds just as fresh,fifty-one(!)years after it's recording....Booker Ervin, certainly one of the unsung heroes of the tenor,is absolutely on fire throughout the album. This is one for the time capsule.
