Except for the boy in the belfry, in somebody s arms
For the last half an hour, for the last half an hour
Have now and if he isn t, that told the same time, on the avenue
he s ringing the bells in the church
Like a hunchback in heaven, he s throwing himself
He ll be the man who s already working, he sounds like he s missing something
He s throwing himself, or someone that he knows he can t
Or someone that he knows he can t, you ll probably swallow some of their history, down from the top of the tower
have now and if he isn t
Except for the boy in the belfry, he s ringing the bells in the church
he s throwing himself
He sounds like he s missing something, in liverpool
he s ringing the bells in the church
On the avenue, on the avenue Liverpool, except for the boy in the belfry
The light is pale and thin, he s ringing the bells in the church, like a hunchback in heaven
The light is pale and thin, in somebody s arms
Or someone that he knows he can t, have now and if he isn t
Down from the top of the tower, that told the same time, he s ringing the bells in the church
in liverpool
He sounds like he s missing something, homesick for a clock Suzanne, for the last half an hour
I certainly am, or someone that he knows he can t, the light is pale and thin
Sometimes you made no sense to me, he sounds like he s missing something In, in liverpool
Sometimes you made no sense to me, for the last half an hour
It's brilliant when you listen to a song that you never paid attention to or weren't that fussed on at the time and you rediscover it all over again as a song you like years later.
Suzanne V.
IN Liverpool is the most underated song of all time . Lyrical beauty better than Bob. Dylan
reaches further inside . Absolutely original and challenging. You are even more radiant with curls. I have been through a life wrenching dehumanizing nightmare. Your talent music and reserve have help me be human again. I thank you your music and integrity soar . ALL GOD THINGS... Charles C.
I love all of Suzanne's work but this one paints such a vivid picture, I'm right in the moment, as though spirited away. "Rosemary" also accomplishes that. Sublime......
wishes that all of the great musicians of our lifetime who are still pursuing music would form an alliance against the major labels and start their own type of universal music group so they could pick and choose real musicians to sign and hire promoters to support them what do you guys think?
A lot of this music video didn't age well aesthetically, but this is one of my favorite songs of all time, so Im gonna just watch it over and over until two years from now I become obsessed with and worship the visual style of this video.
As I am from Liverpool England, I still live here..this song has a great deal of personal resinence of a situation that could have, should have, alas was not. The thing is, I love this song... however I found it quite emotional, those feelings are still there although not as raw.
She really doesn't get any better than this.
All her music has always been very good and special.
But this CD, in particular, does not have just a "good" song on it.
Every song is unique and "memorable".
A perfect CD.
