I can't believe people thought this was one of his worst albums. Its a masterpiece and so ahead of its time.

those cretinous critics - if they listened properly they could have heard all sorts of subtleties as well some seriously funky shiz - its like a super bad Stockhausen

He basically time travelled to the late 90s heard the music, brought it back to the early seventies and nobody got it. Musicians and producers later heard this album and became influenced by it, thus creating the music of the late 90s. A time loop was created.

I like that this was Miles' attempt at "selling out"... this would leave your average Byrds/Sly Stone fans scratching their collective heads...

This seems sort of impressionist in a way. It's like a sonic representation of the wildness of the whore-lined, jive-soundin', pimp-walkin' corner the album focuses on. Listening to this is like being on it.

Listen to Tago Mago by Can everybody! There was some crazy futuristic music going on int he late 60's - early 70's.. We still haven't caught up!
