I've got this bird's eye view
And it's in my brain
Clarity has reared
It's ugly head again
So this is real life
You're telling me
And everything
Is where it ought to be
I like your nerve
I like watching you
But I don't watch what I'm doing
Got better things to do
So this is real life
You're telling me
Now I'm lost in shock
Your face fits perfectly
I bought this album when it first came out, and I was blown away by the music immediately, also the lyrics as there were so many references to the literary heroes of mine at the time, Dostoyevsky, Kafka, Camus, Colin Wilson and many more. The whole album was a musically glorious celebration of the perception of a person who could see the world and themselves as just not fitting together. A lot, most in fact, people don't get it. This is a beautiful collection of songs about 'the outsider'.
