That night in Manhattan was the start of it We lived it and we loved every part of it The glow of moonlight in the park
The lights that spell your name
The autumn breeze that fanned the spark
That set our hearts aflame
Our kiss was a sky-ride to the highest star
We made it without touching the handlebars
And I gave you my love
To the melody of the music, the madness
That made our Manhattan serenade
Our Manhattan serenade
That voice! It subtlly and warmly flows through me like some intravenous, radioactive isotope which then turns me into pancake batter! I agree with others who have said that they feel as though they were born during the wrong musical era.Thank you for this post of her beautiful voice and pictures.
Good Lord, this is the other song I have been wondering about for years and years (about 30!). I never knew its name. It is in the Godfather, and also in one of my favorite Tom and Jerry shorts. THANK YOU!
This tune has stayed in my head for 45 years, ever since I saw the 'Godfather' scene where Hagen 's (Robert Duvall) plane makes its landing approach to Los Angeles Airport. I never knew the name of it. This is the same arrangement as the one in the movie.
