I’m calling to tell you its over
Yes darling, you’re now free to go You’re saying you’re sorry you hurt me But you hurt me much more than you know
You’re asking me where this call comes from
Oh, I hope you won’t end up here
If your new romance turns out a failure
Here’s where you’ll find me my dear
Chorus
I’m just on the blue side of lonesome
Right next to the Heartbreak Hotel
In a tavern that’s known as Three Teardrops
On a bar stool, not doing so well
The floor has a carpet of sorrows
Yet no one can weep in the aisle
And they say someone broke the bar mirror
With only the ghost of a smile
The hands on the clock never alter
For things never change in this place
There’s no present, no past, no future
We’re the ones who have lost in loves race
Chorus
Everyone who hit the dislike button
is a Jim Reeves fan in an optometrist's office being tested for cross-eyedness, and accidentally hit the wrong button!
This song is VERY special to me...thanks for sharing it. When I was a little bitty girl (5-6 years old and still to this day)...me & my daddy dubbed this "our song", Him & momma would listen to their records on Saturday. I would be in my bedroom playing with my siblings. When THIS song came on...daddy would holler at me. No matter WHAT I was doing...I came running. We would lay in the floor with our ears up to the speaker & listen to this song. I lost my daddy in 1994. It was pain I never knew I could feel. This song takes me back to that little girl & her daddy spending time together to enjoy Jim Reeves & "Blue Side of Lonesome!!!"
I went to a Jim Reeves concert in the early 60's in Danville Va.He did a great
performance, singing most of his hits. He was always one of my favorite
singers.
