Chuck was not just a great riff writer, a great solos writer, a great lyrics writer. He was a philosopher with a  guitar in his hands. He should be studied in high schools and universities along with other philosophers.

Death is my favorite post melodic brutal blackened symphonic jazzcore band, John Petrucci's banjo solo from Hammer Smashed Leprosy was brutal and George Fisher's triangle solo just added to the brutality and it was my favorite song from The Great Symbolic Trendkill Kerry King's vocals were fucking insane. R.I.P Chuck Schuldiner, lead bassist of Black Veil Brides

Do you remember when Things seemed so eternal? Heroes were so real... Their magic frozen in time Chuck's art touches parts of my soul I didn't even know I had.

I just started listening to Death about a week ago, and they are starting to become one of my favorite bands alongside Maiden, Megadeth, and Metallica. I don't even like death metal really.

First song from Death, I remember coming off of popular thrash like Megadeth, Metallica, Exodus etc. The second I heard this I realised I was stepping into something else entirely, the song actually scared me at first as I was about 16 but got hooked afterwards. Simply amazing.

I don't mean to dwell But I can't help myself When I feel the vibe And taste a memory Of a time in life When years seemed to stand still I close my eyes And sink within myself Relive the gift of precious memories In need of a fix called innocence When did it begin? The change to come was undetectable The open wounds expose the importance of Our innocence A high that can never be bought or sold [Chorus:] Symbolic acts - so vivid Yet at the same time Were invisible [Solo: Schuldiner / Solo: Koelble] Savor what you feel and what you see Things that may not seem important now But may be tomorrow Do you remember when Things seemed so eternal? Heroes were so real... Their magic frozen in time The only way to learn Is be aware and hold on tight I close my eyes And sink within myself Relive the gift of precious memories In need of a fix called innocence When did it begin? The change to come was undetectable The open wounds expose the importance of Our innocence A high that can never be bought or sold

Never been into death metal much but it is impossible to deny the fucking incredible riff writing, fantastic vocals, super tight playing and everything else about this album. It's just so fucking visceral.

Death is just so superior to every other death metal band out there. I've never been a huge fan of death metal (with its few exceptions), but I knew Death was something else the moment I heard them.
