It comes from the depths Of a place unknown to the Keeper of dreams If it could then it would steal The sun and the moon from the sky Beware Human at sight, monster at heart Don't let it inside it could Tear you right apart No guilt, it feeds in plain sight Spirit Crusher Stay strong and hold on tight Spirit Crusher Speaking in killing words The vicious kind that crush and kill No mercy, its pleasure to taste The blood that it bled. When it's time to feed to fulfill The need to consume a breath Some will rise standing tall Breathing out all the breath from The voice of a soul.

It sucks that every time I want to listen to Death, I have to search up “Death band” instead of just “Death”

Am I REALLY the only one that wants to talk about the fact that this Song has, at least in my opinion, a BLOODY awesome Guitar Solo?

This song is so progressive... The Rythms... The tempo, the melodies. It's just what makes the difference between a masterpiece like Spirit Crusher and a pop music.

The Sound of Perseverance is such an interesting album. It is truly a masterpiece and was a progressive expansion on everything Chuck and the early death metal guys had been doing. But what is most interesting about it is when it came out. Death Metal had gotten popular and was doing new things. Trends were shifting and death metal was getting strongly influenced by hardcore/metalcore/whatevercore and screamo type shit. Chuck didn't go that direction, he represented a different path death metal could take continuing with the old influences. Chuck is way better than all that "new" death metal that lost all relationship with riffs, groove, dynamic structure, and in a lot of ways musicianship. As death metal became more robotic and generic (all for the sake of being "brutal"), Chuck made his music more melodic and dynamic and complex than ever...he didn't just release an album with 50 minutes of non-stop blast beats and step-on-cat-tail screams and comically "deep" growls with riffs that aren't even distinguishable. And for that I commend him.

We've got about 5,000 years before Chuck's DNA decays so let's get to work create a clone of him before it's too late
