The evening breeze
Caressed the trees, tenderly
The trembling trees
Embraced the breeze, tenderly
Then you and I Came wandering by And lost in a sigh
Were we The shore was kissed
By sea and mist, tenderly
I can’t forget
How two hearts met
Breathlessly
Your arms opened wide
And closed me inside
You took my lips
You took my love
So tenderly
Your arms opened wide
And closed me inside
You took my lips
You took my love
So tenderly
I didn’t realize what an excellent musician he was when I met him, back in 60’s or 70’s. He was fresh out of prison. Drove for hours in the back of a Citroen, all the way to Mendocino. We couldn’t tell anybody he was with us as he was on parole and wasn’t supposed to leave Santa Cruz county. Played with the band Warmth at the Albion River Inn. That’s when I found out about Chet Baker.
My dad passed away on 20.01.2019. We would always listen to jazz music. This piece in particular was one of his favourites. He would always say if you listen closely you will hear more than just music. It's life, it's pain, it's joy all rolled into one. Thanks dad for sharing your music with me. I love it and always will. This music is timeless and means more than any of the music we have nowadays
I have 23 years old and my friends laugh at me because I listen this all day, they don't have the good taste in music.
Being a Latin American men who have bad influence like Latin trap, reggaeton and all of that it's hard.
USA, this song had me at 14 years old, my private lessons instructor told me I reminded him of Chet. We started playing some of his work, this particular version of Tenderly touched me the most, it painted my being a different color for the rest of my life, changed forever. It influences my heart in ways I can't describe, I'm a better person because of this recording. We love you Chet, rest in peace brother.
I've been around for 81 years and listened to Chet Baker for probably 60 of them. He had a touch with the horn that was incredible. Even after he got his teeth knocked out the music was still present. It's essential that younger folks listen to the past and the era where jazz reached out to many of us. Put together Jerry Mulligan and Chet baker and there was a special magic. If I live to 100 I'll still be listening to jazz. It's part of my soul. Stay cool
To all the jazz lovers and specially Chet's fans. I highly recommend "Concierto de Aranjuez" with Chet Baker & Paul Desmond & Jim Hall &Ron Carter &Steve Gadd & Roland Hanna. Just write Concierto de Aranjuez, Chet Baker and click, you'll hit this magnificent music.Good luck. From New Orleans the city of jazz.
Whoever sees this. I hope you are having a very enjoyable day (preferably night time). Drifting off to Chet have made my nights great, along with a certain person to talk to.
Chet always touches my soul. When he plays, it's like He is talking to me directly, in a language that my brain can't understand, but my heart and my soul catch and are delighted of. Thank you Chet!
