Unusual and funny movie. However, the part where they play Cat Stevens song Trouble, where Harold learns the real meaning of loss, is heart breaking. When Bud Cort is standing in the waiting room and he receives the news that Maude is gone, his reaction is so real. His head and shoulders drop and start to heave as he shuffles out of the Emergency Room. Is then driving his Jaguar Hurst to the sea. I hope it brought a tear to your eye as it did mine, when it does, you aren't just watching a movie. You're experiencing the pain that goes along with the loss of someone you love dearly. Been there, and this scene and music capture it well.
