Who solos on this record. I see that some of you have said that Lester Young did the sax at the end and the clarinet, but who took the cornet/trumpet solo? Also, what about the rhythm section?
Billie Holiday, Lena Horne, Ivie Anderson, and Ethel Waters all enjoyed a huge black gay audience. In fact, Ethel Waters indirectly becomes a gay icon with her snapping of the fingers for punctuation in a canteen argument with Lena Horne. Quite naturally, I am speaking of older gays, since appreciation of these singers might be generational. Anyone?
