Pretend I never happened
Erase me from your mind
You will not want to remember
Any love as cold as mine
I’ll be leavin' in the mornin'
For a place I hope I find
All the place must be better
Than the ones I leave behind
I don’t suppose you’ll be unhappy
You’ll find ways to spend your time
But if you ever think about me
If I ever cross your mind
Just pretend I never happened
Erase me from your mind, girl
You will not want to remember
Any love as cold as mine
When I was a kid in the 1960s, I heard, liked, and remembered Waylon's Top-40 radio hits like, "Only Daddy That'll Walk The Line", and "Brown Eyed Handsome Man ". But when I was 17 in 1973, this song right here caught my attention. Not only because of Waylon's voice, but mainly because of Ralph Mooney's steel guitar.
An alternate way of sayin', "I'm Movin' On." Leave it to Waymore to create another. Rest In Peace . . . unless your raisin' cane up there too. I reckon God loves Outlaws too?
