I've enjoyed Warren for many years now. I sorely miss him but when I play his music( I have all his cds including the latest posthumous releases.) it's like he's right here with me.
I love this song, it's painfully honest and open. Six years ago, in a surprise diagnosis, I was told I had cancer, my lymph system was top to bottom tumour, and as things stood, I hadn't got that long on the clock. Anyway, as you might guess I had chemo and then radio, and that was six years ago. I've taken two things from these events: you only get one go on the merry-go-round, enjoy it, and you wouldn't smoke if you'd seen what I've seen.
Miss you buddy. You may not have been the most well-known artist, but despite coming well before my time to listen to and appreciate your music (I'm 24), you'll always a be a reference point for me. You told it like it was, you accepted your flaws, you were despicable in your good intentions, you will NEVER be forgotten. RIP.
