If I met Gary Kemp I would ask him what this song is about. It's a really insightful and deep song. Tony Hadley's vocal is fantastic. He delivers it well.

Owes a lot to Roxy Music's then current Flesh&Blood album, esp. 'Over You'. Still good tho' and one of the best non-single tracks on Journeys.

Horrible dilettante song from the first album - something that had no comparison with anything that followed thereafter. I never understood how they could make such a bad amount of compositions at the beginning...

I had the album back in the day but was only a casual listener, so I didn't recall this one. Heard it live for the first time last night and was struck by what a classic pop song it is. It would have made a magnificent Supremes record with the proper arrangement. Diana Ross would have cooed, "Ooh, boy, you’ve had your time to choose" with the subtext being "choose me!" Maybe it's time to reappraise Spandau....

gotta agree with you this album is great glad to hear someone has the same view as me.i thought i was alone in thinking this is their only album with a great energy to it compared to later bland efforts.sorry if i upset any spandau fans with this comment im just being honest on what i think
