Singing along to Joni Mitchell
As his face went through the windshield
Of his '67 Chevrolet
He was driving on the wrong side
Just a wee bit on the drunk side
When the ditch became a shallow grave
Just when he found what he liked
It was taken away
In his Chevy he did perish
To 'a free man in Paris'
The song played loudly away
Taken away on a stretcher
He was buried in the cornfield
Along with his Joni tapes
Just when he found what he liked
It was taken away
You can’t separate a man and his Joni tapes …
That guitar solo is an heartfull expression of my youth, hearing it I feel the way I felt back when...infinity. And I laugh now, punk rock turned me into a Joni Mitchell fan.
I so remember singing along with Mr Pig to Misfortune at City Gardens, NJ in 93-ish time frame. They headlined with some emo/krishna bands opened and no one was left by the time they hit the stage. So sad since all those bald headed fucks missed some truly great songs by a band that will never come around again.
