Love and learn
Take your turn
Somewhere there’s a feather
Falling slowly from the sky
You need not know the reason why.
Stand apart
Hear your heart
Someday there will be Another lover till the end
You need not hold your breath till then.
Don’t ask me to explain to you
There’s nothing to remain but what we see.
Fall and climb
Take your time
Somehow you must live up To the precedents you’ve set
You need not hope for answers yet.
Don’t ask me how I kno w it now
The future does not show itself to me.
So love and learn
Take your turn
Somewhere there’s a feather
beautiful... i loved nico and saw her at the whisky in LA in 79... she was truly one of a kind and although this is her most conventional record it is still exquisite... listen to the lyrics of this song by jackson browne and then look up the video called scottish widows by remember remember and you will understand what jackson was saying...
You are right about her being provocative, and attention-seeking. But she was still racist. Her racism towards Jews was circumstantial, depending on her relationships. So toward the Jewish community, selectively racist, I suppose. However - there was an incident at a restaurant when she stated "I hate black people", and proceeded to smash a wine bottle on the table and stab it in to the eye of a black woman at the table. I would argue that this goes far beyond provocative or attention-seeking.
"Alternative" often means "completely without artistic merit". Nico is an instance of that, and no, Bandiera Vermehlo Palida, that does not make her great, just a talentless phony with a hatful of luck.
