Nothing compares to this wonderful aria by Mario Lanza. He had it all and had the most magnifecent voice of all time-he loved his public and sang with his heart and soul. I just wish I had been lucky enough to have seen him just once! He will never be forgotten!
A wonderful rendition of a classic and the power and clarity of Mario Lanza's voice brings the whole thing to life, it's a great treat to be able to hear this and isn't it marvellous that it has been captured on record for the future.
i have been listening to Mario Lanza when i was hardly a teenager. Now i am 62. His voice first captured my heart and i have been searching for his voice when i was in USA and Australia.
a wonderful recording by the greatest tenor that ever lived. I find it incredible that anyone could criticise such talent. Just listen to what Pavarotti, Domingo and Carreras say about him. One can only imagine what he would have been had he taken a different path.I enjoy most of the more modern tenors but they all lack that passion that only Mario Lanza had.I have heard it said very often especially by his devoted fans that he payed more attention to the words than the music, but this is the way that we love him. Mario for ever!!
