OMG !! ... ive wanted someone to post this performance for years ... I rememeber seeing clips of it on " The Power & The Glory" documentary and i always wanted to see the full performance !! ... SHE WAS AMAZING HERE !! .. Voice well rested and flexible !! ... I also remembered an interview being shown ... when she talked about living without a husband. Do u have that interview ?? ... If so Please post !! .. i would love to watch it !!
I love this song, it's a very beautiful song, Mother Mahalia is ministering to me, with a song that is over 50 yrs.old. You have got to be anointed to be able to do that, across time.
My spirit soars listening to this amazing woman who sang every note form the depths of her soul. It is a remarkable experience no matter how many times I her it. Ms,. Mahalia Jackson was phenomenal! Compared to today's so-called gospel divas, she sang without pretense, show boating, or trying to show off...she was genuine.
Thanks for finding this and uploading it. I have a CD of her singing this live (another version) that I've played 200 times. It's great to SEE her sing this. She could've sung a song about cheese and it would sound great. Gotta love her!
Mahalia Jackson Is the mother of Soulful Gospel singing. When she sings, my heart swells, my head swells and I feel all kind of energies rising up in my body. I hope that she lived a blissful life full of peace and thanksgiving because this is a universal gift personally from God.
