Grace turned man's polygamy dream into a polyandry challenge. "What we can do is to try something new...."

I'm a huge Crosby fan and of course love love love his original version, but... IMHO Grace OWNED this song. She always says she was only ever a high volume belter but while she does rise to exhibit sharp power here, it is more often breathy and delicate with the stripped down instrumentation giving her plenty of room to emote. That famous vibrato is incredibly well suited to the softness of this interpretation, resulting in the most intimate and seductive performance of Grace Slick's career.

This is as powerful as ever - a dream of those crazy days of the 60's when we thought we could change everything.

This is a three-some of Grace's incredible voice sandwiched between Jorma's beautiful guitar and Jack's haunting bass. Triad indeed.

A song about David Crosby, Graham Nash, and Joni Mitchell, who lived together at Laurel Canyon, CA. during a time when we thought the world would be ruled by love forever. Sigh.

"Sister Lovers, Water Brothers...." is a reference to the book "Stranger in a Strange Land" by Robert Heinlein - an amazing good read with many concepts that impacted the generation of high school and college youth in the late 60's early '70s.

it s funny how the meaning of this song doesn`t change with singer`s gender) but it only makes it more interesting with both male and female singer)

David Crosby wrote this tune. It's the quintessential hippie song. Lyrics about a threesome. Doesn't get any better.

I lived in a triad for over 5yr in the 80s.  It was a happy laughter filled time and I miss it.  It does not have to last forever to be meaningful.  It was love filled and meaningful.

Loved this version of Crosby’s song. Sister Grace has the pipes to pull out such great depth from each word...beautiful and haunting at the same time...
