At a party, Brian Wilson played Surfin' USA. Jan & Dean wanted to record it but Wilson said no because Beach Boys were going to record it, so Brian gave them the unfinished Surf City
Always enjoyed this rock song; I have listened to it many times; this is really pretty song and very relaxing and have fun. Thank you for upload my friend.
I saw The Beach Boys live (with some replacements) and they did preform their version of this song, but they were a little to old to being singing the line. “Cute girls for every boy.”
For those wondering, the other musicians are additional vocalists The Matadors; guitarists Bill Pitman, Billy Strange, Glen Campbell, and Tommy Tedesco; bassists Jimmy Bond and Ray Pohlman; drummers Earl Palmer and Hal Blaine; handclappers Bones Howe, Don Altfeld, Don Wood, and Richard Lieber; pianist Leon Russell; horn players Jay Migliori, Roy Katon, Steve Douglas, and Tom Scott; and strings led by Sidney Sharp.
