What an Iconic voice that is instantly recognized !...What memories of a teenage boy...bucking hay all day , South Dakota Wheat Fields !....nite...dead tired ..transistor Radio's listening to this great Song on WLS Chicago or KOMA Okla. City..getting ready to get up, mow hay, Buck and stack and do it all over again ! Grueling days but hard work left a feeling of accomplishment few youth see or feel today !
I have this song on an extended play 45 record that has four cuts of his hits on it. I actually played it on the radio many times back in the day. Always liked Jack Scott.
WOW!! This takes me back to late 1958 when I and a friend would cruise around looking for girls in his 1948 Dodge Four Door with flathead 6 and duel exhaust, (split manifold) what a sound. Certainly brings back some great memories of one of the greatest times for music and life in general. Thanks for the memories.
Goodbye Baby, great song, on the reverse of this 45 is titled: Save My Soul..another excellent song of his...hard to find online to listen to, but worth it! Seek it out!
