This was the second Genesis song I ever heard, after Dance on a Volcano. I was confident they were going to become my favourite band of all time. I was right. I adore this song, and ever since I first heard it in about 1984, It still gets a weekly play in my house. The whole album is pretty special to me too. Many Genesis die hards dismiss ATTWT as the album when they started their decline into pop oblivion, but it's still very much a prog rock album, and has some of their best 'concise' songs on it, where emotion and musicality are in no way compromised.

Probably my favourite Genesis song and certainly my favourite Tony Banks solo. Closest he ever sounded to Wakeman IMO.

Gosh, when Phil was a drummer's drummer! He's amazing! My favourite track off this album and what a way to open the album! Insane that it's mostly in 5/4.

Rutherford lays down the inspiring bass and rhythm and banks and Collins play at their pinnacle = Genius . He is so underrated

The least critically acclaimed album happens to be my favorite by the band. This song is monstrous

Person A: 'I heard Genesis went pop after Gabriel left - can I hear some of their pop please?' Person B plays them this song from album 3 following that departure. Person A says 'huh? I wanted to hear POP........' This has been a terribly executed case for the defence, I thank you...

shame the Gabriel fanboys don't get how amazing much of the stuff on And Then There Were Three is.

Ya know why there's not a metal cover of this song? Because it's already metal.

I've been a Genesis fan more or less since 1978. I can date it quite precisely because of a classmate, who introduced me to this. I have to say that I never understood two things: 1. the urge to be absolutely pro or con, before or after Peter Gabriel. I adore Peter Gabriel and the size and nature of his genius is rare. But this too is amazing, isn't it? 2. The need to name a "Best of Genesis" song. Come on, we all have different moods and we can't listen to the same song all the time, no mater how great. Lets enjoy and be happy that we have seen the light ;) !
