You with the sad eyes
Don’t be discouraged
Though I realise it’s hard to take courage
In a world full of people
You can lose sight of it all
And the darkness inside you makes you feel so small
But I see your true colours shining through
I see your true colours and that’s why I love you
So don’t be afraid to let them show
Your true colours, true colours are beautiful
Show me a smile and don’t be unhappy
Can’t remember when I last saw you laughing
If this world makes you crazy and you’ve taken all you can bear
You call me up cos you know i’ll be there
And I see your true colours shining through
I see your true colours and that’s why I love you
So don’t be afraid to let them show
Your true colours are beautiful
I just today discovered Eva........and after listening to her at my desk all morning, found out that she passed away 20 years ago. I am devastated and heartbroken, and I can't explain it.
My wife used to teach vocals in Australia in the late 90's. Students would come to her asking:
Student: "Can you make me sound like Even Cassidy?"
My wife: "Um, no."
But she would help them get better than they were.
. . .at least those who didn't go off to find a voice coach who told them exactly what they wanted to hear.
Absolutely phenomenal cover. My favourite part of this song is from 2:50 onwards; she completely owns the song and makes it her own. She really showcases her vocal range, which is definitely a treat to listen to.
One of my teachers in primary school used to play Eva to my class at the end of the day if we was good lol bearing in mind this was early 2000's so was a few years after she's actually died.. Pretty sure she didn't want to tell us she was dead cause everyone looked forward the songs. I can still remember her telling us :( this is the first time listening to her since then (have no idea how I even found these masterpieces again) but thought I'd share it with everyone :) R.I.P
How can anyone "Thumbs Down" or dislike this song by her? She's a beautiful soul! It echos in her voice.... In every song that she's ever performed.. I could just spend my whole day listening to her music! RIP Girl.
