Shaking off the heavy one, one day like this a year would see me right, one day like this a year would see me right
One day like this a year would see me right, heavy like a loaded gun
Kiss me like the final meal, someone tell me how i feel, it s silly wrong but vivid right
And only now i see the light, shaking off the heavy one
throw those curtains wide
one day like this a year would see me right
throw those curtains wide
I love your eyes, throw those curtains wide
Throw those curtains wide, it s looking like a beautiful day, throw those curtains wide
someone tell me how i feel
it s looking like a beautiful day
Throw those curtains wide, throw those curtains wide
Lying with you half awake, i love your eyes, cause holy cow
What made me behave that way, and only now i see the light
Kiss me like the final meal, one day like this a year would see me right
Cause holy cow, cause holy cow
One day like this a year would see me right, one day like this a year would see me right
throw those curtains wide
It s looking like a beautiful day, shaking off the heavy one
Someone tell me how i feel, one day like this a year would see me right
And only now i see the light, it s silly wrong but vivid right
One day like this a year would see me right, using words i never say, one day like this a year would see me right
Kiss me when my lips are thin, it s looking like a beautiful day
Walked down the aisle to this when we got married at Pikes, Ibiza last year. Wake up to it every morning as it's my alarm clock. Reminds me of how incredibly lucky and blessed I am to walk this Earth and have my husband.
Summer 2011, Leeds Festival, UK. Sun was scorching, I was with my mates, we had beer aplenty with Elbow on the main stage belting this out and the easily 100,000 person crowd singing along. A memory that will live with with me forever.
The only memory I have of my Dad before he died was sitting in the car and he playing this song. That was 11 years ago and there isn’t a day that I don’t you miss. Love you Dad
This was one of my beautiful brother Stephen's favorite songs, we played it at his funeral two years ago.
Seems like yesterday! We love and miss you always!!

We have mostly all heard this anthem, but I imagine the lyrics have bypassed many. This northern powerhouse band are probably the best mostly undiscovered band of our time. Just listen to the words of true beauty , they certainly fill my eyes every time.
