An absolutely gorgeous song from the early sixties that is magnificent in every respect: a majestic, almost celestial introduction, with beautiful vocal and instrumental accompaniment. I loved this song from the first time I heard it in junior high school, and I wasn't into music at the time. The Warwick-Bachrach-David collaboration has to be one of the most effective in popular music history. By the way, who were the angelic vocalists who backed up Dionne on this record?
I used to love to put this on when I was babysitting and going thru the LP that they had available and just sing until I got sleepy or they came home....It was a great time
I was a little kid when this song was released and I've always loved it. Oprah Winfrey once said that if anyone who claims to care about yout wants to change you, run like hell. That's just what this song is about.
What has always amazed me about Dionne Warwick, is how she seems to sing with so effortlessly, her voice is just so lovely. I like a lot of different kinds of music, and I'm 68 years old, and I must say, I have never heard anyone that I could say was better than Dionne. Truely a rare rare voice from heaven.
