I adore that raspy soul of her voice. She has such a bluesy southern Belle style even though she is from California.

I was in a daze, movin' in the wrong direction Feelin' that I'd always be the lonely one Then I saw your face, on the edge of my horizon Whisperin' that I wasn't the only one The lonely one One chance intervention, see what it can signify The slightest misapprehension, baby And we'd have passed each other by When I heard your sweet voice callin' Saw your light come shinin' through I couldn't stop my heart from turning Churnin' out my love for you I was in a daze, movin' in the wrong direction Feelin' that I'd always be the lonely one Then I saw your face, on the edge of my horizon Whisperin' that I wasn't the only one That lonely one True love or perfection It seems like it's overdue Then just when you least expect it It comes sneakin' up on you When I thought that I was dreaming Felt your body close to mine Now love takes on a different meaning Together till the end of time I was in a daze, movin' in the wrong direction Feelin' that I'd always be the lonely one When I saw your face, through the web of my confusion Whisperin' that I was not the only one The lonely one, oh the lonely one, ooh baby Not the only one I'm not the only one I'm not the only, only, only one, baby, ooh I am not the only one

This song makes me so sad, but I keep listening to it.  She puts so much soul into her songs.

I've spent hours trying to explain to my music-nerd buddies why Bonnie Raitt is awesome. They won't hear any of it. Their loss, I guess.

Giving your music another chance after many years. How did I not like this before? I guess maturity brings appreciation for real talent.

I have seen her live in concert. And if you appreciate Blues and rock and how they can blend and how lyrics can impact an individual. You would clearly understand why Bonnie Raitt is loved and what she brought to music. She set out to follow her passion in music in a genre that was heavily held by males and predominately aging black men.

This song is unique in that the lyrics are unexpected and poetic.  Then the band plays it in such a way that Bonnie seems to be the only one to be able to sing it. I think it is a masterpiece.

She is such a great singer, dating back to the 70's. This is my favorite song from this come back album that she won so many awards for.
