I grew up in the days that Bing Crosby was singing his songs.  It always seemed obvious to me that Dean Martin tried too hard to make his voice sound like Bing's.   They were both good singers but Bing much the best.  By the way, he always wanted to do his singing with his pipe in his mouth.
