Great arrangement of Le Grand's wonderful tune. Who could do it better than Bill Evans? You really should list the personell in the info section at the top: piano Bill Evans  bass  Eddie Gomez drums Eliot Zigmund

The Loving Genius. When I fall in Love, Like Someone in Love, A Time For Love, and You must believe in Spring. Listening to him is like learning how to love.

Always loved the bass solo by Eddie Gomez on this song and his rhythmic playing with Evans is warm and solid. Beautiful song.

I first listened to this when my Arts teacher in high school gave me this album. I had never heard a jazz pianist before, let alone this kind of complex yet soothing music, and it helped me greatly in doing my homework, coupled with his constant reminders that anyone can be a good artist, even if they aren't naturally gifted for drawing like I'm not, and to this day I am proud to say he was the person who most believed in me and taught me the only drawing skills I have. Besides, it was impossible to predict that, 7 years later, I would today be studying Jazz music also. I thought it was worth sharing this to make you understand how much of an impact a song and a good mentor can have on our lives. Love from Portugal

Definitely my favorite peace of music. So sensitive, elegant and full of love. Just how music supposed to be... Thank you Bill, wherever you dwell...

Beautiful version, how about mentioning the composer of the original tune (Michel Legrand)?

Bill Evans learned early in his career that when you play jazz it has to be pretty stuff. Too many jazz musicians forget this and get caught up in playing a lot of discordinate sounds that nobody wants to hear because they can't relate to it and it doesn't sound good to them. Bill Evans was one of the best and is emulated by so many top jazz pianists.

I saw Bill at The Cellar Door, DC in 1976. I recall the depth of clarity in his words, spoken to his audience. He was a soulful, beautiful man; sensitive , like his music.

I was able to have a masterclass at my university with Eliot Zigmund, the drummer on this album. He said playing with Bill Evans was an out of this world experience, and he was one of the greatest musicians of all time. And I believe it. I try to model my playing after Bill and Oscar. Beautiful piece, and a beautiful musician. Bill Evans will forever be known as one of the greatest pianists to ever live.

When lonely feelings chill The meadows of your mind, Just think if Winter comes, Can Spring be far behind? Beneath the deepest snows, The secret of a rose Is merely that it knows You must believe in Spring! Just as a tree is sure Its leaves will reappear; It knows its emptiness Is just a time of year The frozen mountains dreams Of April's melting streams How crystal clear it seems You must believe in spring You must believe in love And trust it's on its way Just as a sleeping rose Awaits the kiss of May So in a world of snow Of things that come and go Where what you think you know You can't be certain of You must believe in spring and love You must believe in love And trust it's on its way Just as a sleeping rose Awaits the kiss of May

The end of Eddie Gomez solo, from 2:24, is such a masterpiece. I have no words... This is life, this is crying, laughing, love, this is everything!
