This was one of Joans best recordings. Here she proves that she can be as commercial as the rest of them - she just didn't choose to be very often. Can you imagine how far she would have gone if she had been paired with some of the "greats" of the modern era of recording? Mutt, Ahmet Ertegen, etc? Just fantastic - absolutely fantastic.

That this is commercial is what makes it such and outstanding recording. Joan hardly ever did commercial!!! Great talent - and it is nice to see that she did get commercial enought to make a few bucks - god knows she must have been eating very little trying to make it in this modern recording era and using only her guitar. She sounds happy and upbeat here - she sounds great!!!

OMG, I had "Blowin' Away" on an 8-track tape back in the mid-70s. It's been gone for a long time, with the rest of my youth ;~) So happy to hear this song again just now and return momentarily to those days when my new husband and I lived aboard our 28 foot Morgan Tiger Cub sloop "Tiger Lily" and this song was our theme song. Thank you for the memories and the smiles...
