I lost my dad to suicide at age 4 we were very, very close, and we would listen to Johnny Cash together, just the two of us, I walk the line was our song and everytime I listen to Johnny Cash I remember my dad and the beautiful memories we shared together, but it still hurts to listen to Johnny because I miss my dad everyday

You know back in the 1930s, 40s and even 50s, people would do this for a complete stranger. I highly doubt someone would ever do something like what was mentioned in the song today. It is very sad.

Growing up my parents listened to stuff like Simon and Garfunkel. As I got older I explored different genres... I grew up in the 90s so Johnny was still somewhat relevant. Once I started listening to his music it somehow resonated with me. RIP Johnny

The saddest part is that the dying man doesn’t tell him where they live exactly or how to get there. I wonder if he is trying to hold on to a fantasy that his wife did wait for him... knowing that the stranger couldn’t possibly find them based off of a “Rose” living in “Louisiana”.
