This is the one I remember - right down to the volume "burp" in the middle. I never heard the Canned Heat version until very recently- don't know how I missed it, but I prefer the original.

Canned heat did a good cover of this song. I always like to hear Wilbert Harrison, one of the pioneers.

saw him perform this at Cobo Hall in Detroit in 1970    The lineup was Wilbert then Booker T and the MGs and then Credence Clearwater Revival ,, they don't make em like that anymore

I heard Delbert McClinton played harmonica on this song...pretty good stuff.

Instead of arguing 'this is better than that' and dissing other versions, try showing a bit of musical maturity and appreciate that other musicians have interpreted the song their way. Yes this is the original recorded on primitive equipment ... and that's how it sounds ... raw, earthy and beautiful. Just be thankful someone took the time to upload it...thanks Hankgwe

Only God can grant this genius for rhythmic timing; though no doubt Wilbert worked hard to get to a level where God would take an interest
