In a world where all is borrowed
And time like elusive dust seems to
Just slip through our fingers
All we realy have are these precious moments
Where we can make fertile the soil
In the garden of our hearts
That love may make its home
And here the mortal seed may flourish
Only love can free us from the womb of time
For life… like a magnificent mysterious cloud holds
Its shape and from only long enough for us to blinks
And all our precious memmories are but shadows of
Time that will drift away like fallen returning
To the emptiness from which they came
Thus we are, like innocent children flowering
In the garden of souls
A woman called Fran in South Africa introduced me to VAS in 1998. She was a philosophy teacher at uni, and we listened to Vas as well as Dead Can Dance while I painted a leopard for her. Her home was so spiritually clean that it created the most amazing atmosphere to work in. Super memories of painting while looking over the ocean at lightening in the distance.
I love her voice, but the music is so powerful and traditional. I find it so soothing to my soul. I grew up with this album and owe a lot of spiritual growth to the peace this ethereal music instilled in me.

the power of sound, amazing, i have read, not one word or comment in any negative way, amazing voice, with such exotic sounds, elevates my soul, great vibration.....
I used to work with Azam Ali back in the late 90's at the Bodhi Tree Bookstore. I got to see her and Greg do a little concert there when their first album "Sunyata" came out. She's quite an interesting woman, with the voice of the Goddess, and Greg is a dear soul with an amazing talent. So glad to see how her career has flourished, even though Vas is no more.
