The Kinks came out with this song in 1964 ... way, way before Van Halen even formed.
Actually, I saw The Kinds do this live in 1976. Totally amazing.
Personally, I believe Van Halen's version is quite superior; however, I still LOVE The Kinds original. Make no mistake: The Kinks could REALLY rock.
Van Halen had a heavier vibe which I personally love!
