he put his thoughts in my mind
i remember you
He lent over the bed, it was deep in the night, he brushed the hair from my eyes
slide his hand down
Underneath the sheets, hey velveteen
Things change and people change, remember you
And never let you go, remember you
You know i really want you, he lent over the bed
But the heart it yearns, do you remember me, till he reached my waist
well it s been a while
Sayin the same things, waiting to get hurt, he brushed the hair from my eyes
you will be mine
Loved me true., and then began to slide Vamp, now the past is back
I want you back., but you don t really love me
but you don t really love me
And then began to slide, just in different words
Until the day, he brushed the hair from my eyes
i swear i want you too
When he came through my door, you own the dirt
Once i could have held you, at the end of the hall
And things have been wild, it was deep in the night Velveteen, at the end of the hall
Wow, I finally found this song I loved back when I was a rocker chick in high school from 1987 to 1991.
I had this album on cassette tape and played this on my old Sony Walkman.
'Gen-Xer' here, missing this kind of music in the year 2020.
I wore out this cassette tape in my Vauxhall Cavalier back in the early nineties, i still think this track is one of the most epic rock ballads ever written and Wendy James was the perfect voice to belt it out.
i actually think this was 'Vamp's best track, i would have listened to this song more than the others on the album back in the day.
They should have made a lot more songs like this!
Lots of musos sneered when I mentioned Transvision Vamp as them being a bimbo pop-punky band because they'd only heard 'Baby I don't care'.... But then I played them the whole album and this amazingly sexy, prog-rockin'-dance-jazz-ambient-electro-new-romantic-erotique duet and they were blown away!.... I mean licked out
Back in those days, I sometimes jusr bought an album, that was unknown to me. -
This was the first time I heard Transvision Vamp, and I was hooked from then on.
