Tony RUINED me for White guys when I was 10 ! If you're not Latino and look like Tony Orlando I won't date you. It's always been that way. They notice my Tony wall of albums in the man cave and then I see mustache sprouting shortly after. Smart Popi. I play his early 60's songs when in my Aquamarine 1960 Thunderbird. Even better with a Tony clone driving me around. Make your own dreams come true !
Most B sides in the 60s were a disappointment. However, this one was an exception. The A side, Bless You, was written by that great husband and wife team Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil and Am I The Guy, was written by none other than Gerry Goffin and Carole King. I've still got my old 45.
Pity nobody has found an old clip of Tony pre-Dawn.
Yeah, I liked Tony's music pre-Dawn the best, while I like some of the Dawn songs, his early stuff is what I really like, and those writers were second to none. Somebody must have a clip from that era.
