indeed their are. their are alot of good drummers out there, i just love how Takashi seems so comfortable when he's playing, it really looks like he loves what he's doing. and although i am a big metal fan, i think alot of it is constricting for the drum writing, so they arent as free to develop very unique sounding beats as much as a math/post rock drummer could
That answer suits my desire to learn, thanks. It's that one bit of math rock I never grasped.
Well to each his own, I'm not a big fan of this but I did bookmark this video for a reason, I didn't want to dismiss it as generic fruit rock which is ever so popular today. I'm glad I didn't.
Not my cup of tea, but definitely not something I would refuse if offered.
he seems to improvise alot of his fills, yet manages to make them sound like they were planned to be in the recording. the casual look and feel he has when he plays can only really be learnt through experience, making it look like he plays whatever he wants, but it still forms a solid beat. many drummers out there are almost robotic, and will play the song exactly the same way every single time. Toe's drummer can mess around with the beat, yet still be perfectly in time and on the beat.
you say you're a drummer....that's exactly the part I need explained...can you (the people who obviously know more than me regarding this) tell me why is it hard to play as the drummer of Toe does and why is it special?
you must watch a live performance, he is so natural and effortless. Toe really flaunt their drums, it is so loud in most of their songs, and to me the drums really give the songs alot of life. Difficult to explain, but as a drummer myself, he is incredibly talented and it is amazing how much emotion he puts into his performances.
Who are you, or anyone for that matter, to judge what a good snare sound is? Do you know why each drum company makes many different snares with different sizes and woods? To get different sounds for the musician to decide what his "sound" is. I'm not even going to begin with your statement about the drummer being bad. Just know that you might want to open your mind about all music and ask yourself: Is it bad? or Is it just not your cup of tea?. Most likely it is always question B. Art is art.
