What an incredible album, one of my all-time favourites. I have both the LP & CD versions....long live the Wild Swans!

Liverpool produced some great melodic pop - Beatles obviously, but Wild Swans, Teardrops, Coral, Lightning Seeds... I heard this on Peel in 1988, went straight out and bought the album.

THE HEART IN THE HEART OF ENGLAND WILL NEVER DIE The reason why the songs of The Wild Swans songs are tinged with sadness is because the part of Liverpool where they originated is such a lonely and depressing place(provincial) which became the fuel that sparked their creativity in making songs like"Whirlpool Heart","Archangels","Bringing Home The Ashes,and "Bible Dreams"....Unlike their contemporaries like Duran Duran and Soft Cell who lived in places that are more progressive and had lots of clubs ad disco sounds.Accoding to Jeremy Kelly,the poverty of their town which they're in gave them hope and in that hope it became the inspiration for them to create and compose"Northern England"which is My Favourite Song of The Band.Knowing that made me appreciate the song much better...David Dylan Malana Puzon.1V

My god i miss my girlfriend in philipines we listen to the wild swan i miss the 80's she lived now in england and im back here in japan new wave forever!!
