I’ve been set free and i’ve been bound
To the memories of yesterday’s clouds
I’ve been set free and i’ve been bound
And now i’m set free
I’m set free
I’m set free to find a new illusion
I’ve been blinded but
Now i can see
What in the world has happened to me The prince of stories who walk right by me And now i’m set free
I’m set free
I’m set free to find a new illusion
I’ve been set free and i’ve been bound
Let me tell you people
What i found
I saw my head laughing
Rolling on the ground
And now i’m set free
I’m set free
I’m set free to find a new illusion
I was sitting at The Ilac Center Library in Dublin,Ireland listening on headphones when I first heard this album including "The Banana Album", as I call it. I will never forget the experience, sitting there, listening to something that I thought, had never been listened to before and feeling like Columbus discovering new music.
Always wanted this song for my funeral. I'm crying now listening to it and mourning a man I never saw but who touched me deeply and helped me get through some tough times. R.I.P. Lou Reed. I hope you're free at last.
Rarely felt a connection with a song on the first listen, but I remember exactly where I was walking, what the weather was like, everything from when I first heard this song. When the guitar solo came in around 2:09, I remember I couldn't hold back the tears; it sent such a feeling of liberation rushing through me.
I've been set free and I've been bound
To the memories of yesterday's clouds
I've been set free and I've been bound
And now I'm set free
I'm set free
I'm set free to find a new illusion
I've been blinded but
You I can see
What in the world has happened to me
The prince of stories who walk right by me
And now I'm set free
I'm set free
I'm set free to find a new illusion
I've been set free and I've been bound
Let me tell you people
What I found
I saw my head laughing
Rolling on the ground
And now I'm set free
I'm set free
I'm set free to find a new illusion
