I've read this group (Tear Drops) is a white group, but I don't believe it for a minute. No white group sounded like this in 1954. Josie released some songs by a group called The Teardrops in 1959 & 1960 - which may well be the white group referred to.

My wife who has a great ear for music said it is a white group. She was called Little Pia and her biggest record was Bye, Bye, Boy backed by Johnny Otis girl group, not That Three Tons Of Joy. Ray Charles management Group came to sign AT SAN BERNARDINO HIGH SCHOOL Her as a RAYLET, HOWEVER THEY DISCOVERD SHE WAS NOT BLACK. She is Native American, Mexican, and little Italian.
