This is my jam, I work for a monument company, I've had to lock up the cemetery gates a couple times working late, security man said "I trust ya boys just lock up when your done!" Haha

At the end of the song, the singer realizes he must be dead too - since "I was now doing the Dead Man's Stroll".

This was a HUGE big hit in Minneapolis-St. Paul back in 1959. By the time it got airplay, of course, the single had be retitled "Midnight Stroll".

I heard part of this on the radio once. Apparently its title was too scary for the public at one point. Thank you for uploading this.

Classic doo-wop. This was out in September of 1959 and may have been written with Halloween in mind. It's rumored that after some complaints from Dick Clark at American Bandstand it was re-titled Midnight Stroll because Dick reportedly wouldn't play it if the name wasn't changed. The Revels were from Philadelphia and at the time that's where American Bandstand was televised from.
