no not necessarily obsession. it means to be taken by, like being in love or liking someone. to be infatuated with someone means just that. obsession can or cannot be included. thats up to the person.

People believing in Rapture is sad indeed. All one need do is look into the goings on of one Edward Irving and one John Nelson Darby of the Plymouth Brethren. What is know as Rapture emanated from these two super preachers of the 1800s. Prior to these two proselytizing concerning Rapture, it was not mentioned as a teaching of the Church. The same can be said of Liberation Theology, now being referred to as social Christianity to define the meaning of biblical texts. That did not occur until the 1970s. This is where biblical text is defined using the ideals of philosopha doctrine. Its purpose is to embed philosopha ideals into Christian teaching, thereby making philosopha based political systems (Communism, Socialism, Progressivism) acceptable by Christians. The theology makes Christ out to be a radical community organizer.... Sound familiar? Additionally read Ezekiel 13 beginning at verse 17 ... our Father hates rapture....
