Was at a "Fairwell" party for a friend who was going to work in America for a year and (after a few drinks) we were all singing this as loud as possible, along with other Scottish ditties. Sure it's freezing, always raining and there's always an oncoming storm, but fuck it, I love this country and I can't imagine being anywhere else.
This song will always have a special place in my heart. My son was born six weeks early and spent his first couple of weeks in the hospital's SCBU and whenever I was there, this was being played on the radio. My son is now a strapping 27-year-old!
I love Scotland and always have done. Whenever I get to that side of the border the people are really friendly. As an English person may I say thank you to all the Scots just for being you.
