Yes Zoie. We were almost constantly on tour in 1966 aspecially. My favorit tour was the six week Gene Pitney tour. It streches over 34 states that was mostly on an old grayhound buss. But we were also on our own tours, cause we had to make some PR. For our records.
As a member of a 60's garage band we wore out a 45 RPM record and learned this song note for note and chord for chord to play dances....that bass part was AWESOME and still is!
But the guys in the studio when we recorded this tune was: Tom King, Sonny Geraci, me - Mert Madsen. On lead guitar: Al Austin, and the drummer was: Ron Harkai. The last two did not continue in The Outsiders. - Al Austin whanted to remain playing in Cleveland, And Ron Harkai had a date with Uncle Sam. Al Austin died in a caraccident on the way to a sit inn gig only 19 years old. Ron moved to Michigan And I have still contact with him. --- and I am almost weekly in contact with Bill Bruno that moved to SanDiego sout California and with Rick Biagiola that lives not to fare south of Cleveland Airport. ---- He formed a new group Caled : The Outsiders, because he bought the name free since the founder Tom King Past away a feew years ago. Sonny Geraci also has past away. May you both Rest in Peace. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Well Alan, life has not been a danse on roses, but being on the worlds largest lable Capitol has ofcause had its good and bad times, they expected a lot of uss, more then we could deliver obviusly. they called us a one hit group a flach in the pan. And we had also Americas largest booking agensyWilliam Moris. --- we were constantly on the road, and made a lot of money for our manegers mostly. Yes wgen I quit the group , I whent home to Denmark, with a broken heart and a lost marege. But I bounsed back an have plaied on my accordions ever since I came home in 1970 So April 9th. Ihave plaied music 76 years of my 80 year life.
