Chicago band started as The Kombo Kings in drummer Dwight Kalb's basement.....band name changed several times.... Jimmy Ford & The Casuals...Jimmy Ford & The Chicago Kasuals...Jimmy Ford & The Executives....served as house band on Dick Clark's Caravan of Stars 1964-1965....members Jimmy Ford (trumpet& flugelhorn) Mike Sistak (guitar), Ron Gately (bass) Wayne Erwin (bass),Dwight Kalb (drums)....Sistak & Ford joined forces with Jimmy Holvay,Gary Beisbier,Al Herrera,Artie Herrera,Bobby Ruffino& Tony Nedza to form The MOB one of the earliest horn/rock bands to tour nightclubs, lounges, and ballrooms in the mid to late 1960's thru 1980....The Mob was a top notch show band noted for R& B and Northern blue-eyed soul music....they played all around Chicago local dance halls The embassy Ballroom and the Holiday Inn. > You knew they were gonna make sweet music to last forever!!

Great to find this, bought it just before leaving school (thank goodness!) in 1971 - was played at Terry Heath's in Wellington on Sunday nights

It's too bad that the dynamics of their live performances couldn't be picked up in the recording studio. These guys always blew me away! Did they ever record live?

Another Jim Holvay tune - I loved the ones he wrote for The Buckinghams - great songwriting!
