I didn't care for this album when I first listened to it. This album totally felt like a weird unplugged version from their previous adventures, but it really caught me off guard after a few listens, and I'd say it's one of their best to date.
The Jesus and Mary Chain: The Greatest Band Never Heard
They should have been bigger than Nirvana, Sonic Youth, Smashing Pumpkins, etc. These guys were never afraid to take chances. To follow up Psyco Candy with Darklands, an album with a totally different sound, shows true artistic integrity. Every album is fantastic and different than the last. I discovered them when I heard Just Like Honey in the movie Lost In Translation in my early teens and proceeded to get they're best of: 21 Singles, as I listened to it, each track being even better than the last, and the eclectic sound of their material I thought "Why the fuck haven't I heard these guys before? How is it they're not the biggest indie crossover group ever?"
