the land has his heart and he rarely complains
Is who i meant to be, he knows every stone that s been struck by the plow
Every man has a story and the story goes on, it s my way of life, the lord has his timing cause only he knows
That s why i farm, that s why i farm Henningsens, that s why i farm
He knows every stone that s been struck by the plow, we always pull through when we thought we would brake
In the draught 88, it s my way of life Farm, and it grows like seed inside my heart
it s my way of life
And it grows like seed inside my heart, why i farm is in my blood
I ll work this way, why i farm is in my blood
why i farm is in my blood
Like the sunlight is on my skin, he s a dusty old carhartt and the light in the barn Why, is more than just a living
Is more than just a living, this life is but a moment in a bigger plan
cause when heaven comes this close to what you re holding
is who i ve always been
every man has a story and the story goes on
We always pull through when we thought we would brake, is who i ve always been, like the sunlight is on my skin
In the flood 93, living on long after i depart, it s my way of life
it s my way of life
the lord has his timing cause only he knows
Is more than just a living, like the sunlight is on my skin, is more than just a living
This song is how I have lived my entire life. I was raised on a farm, and its all I ever wanted to do. I was riding in a tractor and combine, before I ever learned to walk, I would take my afternoon naps as a child in a tractor and combine. We still have the footstool, that I set on as a kid in the tractors and combine, my mom wanted to sand it down and take the nicks out of it, and my Grandma said nope, that's what gives it character, lol. I was only about 7 or 8, when I started plowing and disking, people would ask my Grampa aren't you worried putting him in a tractor at that age, and my Grampa said he has been in a tractor since before he can walk, I trust him more than I trust the hired hand, lol.
Farming truly is a way of life and not a job. Sure there is things at times, you don't really look forward to doing, like working on things when they break, lol, but even the worse day on the farm, would beat the best day at any other job. Ive always said, if I couldn't farm, I would just as soon be dead. Even at my age and with the health problems that causes me to live in chronic pain everyday, if I were to win 100's of millions of dollars, I would go out and buy every piece of land I could, to farm, instead of vacation homes, and living in luxury the rest of my days.
Farming is a tough lifestyle I’m 18 and just started the 4th generation and commodity prices keep dropping and people pressure me to go to college but I’m not giving up on the farm life. Farmer strong
I am 18 and live on a farm I understand want farmers love to do.. I plan on taking over after high school I will be a senior next coming school year so I don't have far to go so.. I love farm life just walking in dirt mud every single thing..
If you sat at a table and shared a meal with your family today, then thank a farmer, a rancher, a trucker and God. Without each of them it wouldn't have happened. +++
This song give the consept of the people that don’t know enough about farming that be a farmer you have got to give everything to god because he is the one that make the crops grow and being a big farmer in NC there’s ups and downs about farming
Love this song. Posted it on my Midwest Maize blog as an example of both the Why I Farm program and how cool farmers are. Thanks for doing this. Here's to the next seven generations.
This song is so beautiful and I love how it gives us an insight into what farming means to the workers. I don't think it gets enough credit! The whole concept reminds me of Jason Isbell's "Something More Than Free" . Someone who has never walked in those shoes may see it as just work but it means so much more than that, and holds even more value than one might first think.
