I love how the lyrics are so incoherent. This song sounds good when played fast and loud. "Cause I love you!"... "ahhh ahhh ahhh!"

The Moodies used to play a version of the Dickies cover of Nights in their sound checks.

The Dickies are one of the coolest LA punk rock bands EVER!!! Yes, there was X and the Weirdos and The Controllers and The Stains, The Germs, but the Dickies were the ones who opened up for the Ramones every year at the Hollywood Palladium. They were my first real punk rock concert. I remember losing one of my Vans tennis shoes at the gig and having to look for it after the concert. It's a total blurr, but I do remember it was so fucking cool! I was only 13 years old and I fucking loved it! The Dickies are AWESOME!

When I win the lottery I'm hiring these guys for my birthday party. Stan Lee is very underrated and all of these loonies are great musicians

My first exposure to this cover of Nights In White Satin? I used to work late nights in a country radio station in Texas in the 80's. One night I got really bored and started rooting around in their backroom archives of old 45's. That's when I discovered this gem by the Dickies. In a small town country station in Texas. LOL!

The original is almost holy to me but this is just great. Genius and some generously sized balls to even attempt a re-make of this classic, much loved song.

+Cheetah Chrome Leonard's way of mumbling and singing in that high pitched voice of his is so funny.

I think this was the first single I ever bought. As an alternative to The Banana Splits. Virgin Records in Plymouth, UK didn't have that. But they had this. 7" white vinyl. I was 12.
