Hello Tom Smith. I still remember this song from August, 59. I was 11 going on 12, and just a young Italian Kid growing up in Washington, DC. In late October of 58 my Daddy bought a brand new 59 Thunderbird from the old Koon,s Ford in Woodbridge Virginia. Thanks for posting this great song. I still love it today.
Oh boy, a NEW CAR! This is so good. I found it on a compilation a few years back, it really stood out, but I can't interest anyone else in it. A lost classic from when I was only 8yo! Yeah! So cool!
used to have this on a single back in the early 80,s. think i was the only rock,n,roll DJ in the area that had it. Found it in a shop selling old records.
Try looking in charity shops u can pick up some old gems like this very cheap as some ppl just give them away to charity shops not realising how much they can be worth. Found a beatles record in 1 shop recorded in german. only paid 10p for it and it was worth £2,000 when i had it valued.
When Tom uses the work adorable, he's right on. Listening to this today is an antidote to all the bad news in the paper. Just for a few minutes it takes you away to a happier, sweeter time. Great vocals and a perky beat! Thanks Delicates for this walk down memory lane!
I'm still lost in the fifties and thought I knew all of the 5o's car songs but I never heard this one until today.......I Love It and I love Thunderbirds
