See how the fluffy clouds move by us See how the clouds move by See how the morning mist can hide us away
And how the day is so much fun
Wha Oh Isn’t it groovy in a daydream?
Dreamin' today
Doesn’t the day seem like it could never end
And so my friend we’re one
Baby it’s funny
How I can feel so sunny
When you’re beside me We can fly
Oh we can fly
Hey Mister Wind keep on sailin'
Keep on sailin' along
High in the sky there’s no curtailing our fun
Yes we’ll have fun
So everyone come on Hey you on the ground
Take a look up and see what we’ve found
Nothing to tie us Bluebirds come up to guide us When you’re beside me we can fly
Oh, we can fly
We can fly
Hey, everyone on the ground let’s fly
The Cowsills were a breath of fresh air, in contrast to the Viet Nam war era. They were a family of beautiful, harmonizing, talented musicians. We needed them. They brought sanity and happiness to the world.
The Partridge Family doesn't even compare to the Cowsills. I never understood then what all the hoopla was about. Still don't get it. All of their songs seemed second rate to me. But "We Can Fly" is still to this day, one of my all time favorite songs. Right up there with "Daniel" by Elton John.
I'm trying to figure out from the 34,548 views you only got a measly 107 likes on this song? The video is drop dead gorgeous and the song is stupendous! I would think you would have more likes than 107! :)
I just sent a message to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Facebook to request to nominate the Cowsills. I am hoping that they will put them on the ballot for next year.
Please join in with sending messages to them.
I got the ball started rolling!
Get word out!
Awesome I read an article about harmony and music groups. They along with the beach boys and bee gees were ranked among best. As a group and genetics I guess the harmonies were and still are great and you don't need an expert to tell you. But also how damn good too hear that sound. Getting old sucks but man our generation saw some of the most talented musicians/artists in history. The Beatles alone sold over a billion!!! They sold records like MacDonald's sells burgers. We had the best in our lifetime. For that I am thankful. Wish I could go back and do it all over. No regrets.
I remember listening to this classic tune on a one-time legendary MOR station in Phoenix, AZ KOY AM 55 back in 1968. You did a great job on this video. Thanks.
